AuSpanish is a directory of businesses in Australia that serve customers in Spanish. The directory itself is only for those businesses, but this board is not: any landlord or tenant in Australia can post here, in English, free. The site is written in Spanish because most of the people reading it are, and there is a tick box on the form for whether the household speaks Spanish; leaving it unticked changes nothing except which list the ad appears in.
One condition, and it is not ours. The ad has to carry one fixed rent. New South Wales requires a fixed price on a rental advertisement and bans inviting higher offers, and the platform carrying the ad is in scope.
What the form asks, in order: título (a short description), tipo (private room, shared room, whole place), ciudad and suburbio, alquiler and por (the rent and whether it is per week or month), depósito (bond), cuentas incluidas (bills included), amoblada (furnished), disponible desde (available from), personas (how many people), and cómo contactar (an email or a WhatsApp number).
Nothing is published until you confirm it. We send a preview link to the address you give us, and the ad only exists once you click it. The preview and the emails are in Spanish; if you would rather have that conversation in English, say so in your reply and we will.
Una condición, y no es nuestra
El aviso lleva un precio fijo: un número, no un rango ni «a convenir». En Nueva Gales del Sur la ley lo exige y prohíbe pedir más que el precio publicado, y desde 2023 la plataforma que publica el aviso también responde. Este directorio aplica esa regla en todo el país.
Al enviar, guardamos la declaración de arriba con la fecha y su texto exacto. Qué guardamos y por qué.
